Day tour to Porkkala Taiga Forest by the sea
Let’s go to Porkkala, a nature protection site which will probably be one of the next National Parks in Finland!
Starting from Helsinki, we will drive an hour to the Nature Protection area of Porkkala. This place is an enormous example of Finnish Taiga Forest and not so crowded as National Park Nuuksio nowadays is. We will leave our car to a local parking place near the gate of Porkkalanniemi. The paths are rather wide and well maintained, but it is always a good idea to have good shoes with you. We will walk some 1,5 kilometers down the peninsula, to reach the highest point at the seafront. From there you can see open sea and an old lighthouse of Rönnskär. The wind blows from the sea to your face. Excellent place to just relax and sit down. After that we return to one firemaking site, and build an open fire to grill the real Finnish Forest Food, the sausages. If you are not able to eat pork, please inform us during booking. The day tour ends by driving back to your hotel or cruise ship.
